Patricia Bader-Johnston is Managing Director at Freyr Life Sciences KK and founder of Silverbirch Associates KK (est. 2008). She is an active social entrepreneur and sustainability expert focused mainly on Energy, Water and Food innovations and project development. Prior to founding several companies she worked for three years with Japanese government and eight with the Canadian embassy in Tokyo. After leaving the public sector she held a number of senior corporate roles including: Director of Communications for IBM Japan, Vice President Operations Finance and Resources for Goldman Sachs Japan, Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs at British American Tobacco Japan, and was Head (Japan, Australia, Taiwan) of Corporate Affairs for Standard Chartered Bank. Patricia is a member of the Sustainability Working Group for the Tokyo 2020 Oympics; National Partner for the Creative Business Network; has been a retained advisor to global organizations such as ADBI and World Bank; range of Fortune 100 clients, NGO’s and national and local governments etc.. She is a Professor of Sustainability Studies (MBA) at the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School and at Rikkyo University (MIB) among others; is a past President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan; and has been awarded ACCJ Leader of the Year, twice. She holds an MBA in International Business from McGill University Canada.
