Dr. Hamill is founder and CEO of iFetch, a new family startup business offering interactive entertainment and exercise toys for dogs. He formerly served as chairman of the board of Microelectronics & Computer Technology Corporation (MCC). He worked through the past years to spin out separate startup companies to commercialize MCC’s most important technologies. Dr. Hamill retired from the 3M Company in 2000, having worked for the company since 1971. In his last position he led 3M’s Electronic Markets Center, a new market-based organization delivering over $1.5B in products from 15 different 3M divisions to the global electronic manufacturing industry. Previously Dr. Hamill held various technical, marketing and business executive positions in 3M’s electronics and telecommunications businesses. He is serving on boards and advisory boards of several other companies. His consulting activities are presently focused on market and business planning in pre-IPO start-ups and in the area of technology transfer and commercialization. Dr. Hamill received a BS and MS in physics from the University of Wisconsin, and a PhD in solid state physics from Boston University.
