Dr. David Wimberly is Founder and Director General of Planning Research Corporation, an Engineering Services firm which specializes in Systems Engineering, Project Management and Space Business. Before founding Planning Research Corporation in 2020, he was Co-Founder and Director General of Eurisko Institute for 13 years, where he led various projects but perhaps his most famous was the Space Colonization project.

He is also Founder, Senior Managing Director and CEO of David Wimberly & Co. LLC, a Merchant Bank and Financial Advisory firm, founded in 1974 as David Wimberly Consulting. Besides, he is a Managing Director at Econovention LLC, and Econovention RED LLC, both headquartered in the Waco, Texas area, firms recently organized by Dr. Bill Hulsey, Dr. John Butler, Mr. David Sanders and Dr. Wimberly.

He was previously associated with the New York based investment bank, Scott-Macon, Ltd., where he was a Managing Director, involved in Investment Banking, Valuation and Appraisal Services; and the New York based investment bank, Trenwith Group, LLC, a subsidiary of BDO Seidman LLP, where he was Senior Vice President and Manager for the State of Florida, and also involved in Investment Banking, Valuation and Appraisal Services.

He served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy Supply Corps and Contracting Officer and was a Plankowner aboard USS Jacksonville SSN 699 where he received the Qualified in Submarines Warfare Badge. While a U.S. Navy Officer, he completed U.S. Navy Supply Corps School, the Submarine Officer Basic Course. He served as a Project Manager for a large project with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

He has served as a Faculty Member agmat Florida State University, Jones College, and William Jennings Bryan College; he is a widely sought after speaker and has been invited to speak at the Florida State University, the University of Florida, Oxford University and University College London. He has served as a Shark Tank judge at the Jim Moran Institute at Florida State University, and three times been a speaker at the Bartlett School of Planning at University College London.

He was an “active” Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida from September, 1975 to December, 2016 and is now an “inactive” CPA, and he has numerous other professional credentials. Wimberly is a Fellow, Diplomate and Scholar at the Oxford Graduate School Society of Scholars, and has been awarded the equivalency to a (Doctor of Letters) degree. He is a Member of the Supreme Council of the GAFM, a Member of the American Academy of Project Management, and holds three designations as well from GAFM, the Certified Planning Engineer (CPE), Certified International Project Manager (CIPM) and Project Management
Professional (PMP).

Wimberly is an active Member of the British Interplanetary Society, the Mars Society, and the National Space Society. He is currently pursuing membership in the International Institute of Space Law.
